Certified Pilates Instructor
Deborah Adams, founder and proprietor
of EnCORE Pilates in Petaluma California, is a Certified Pilates instructor
through Pilates Academy International of New York City. Deborah has studied Pilates with master
teachers Rael Isacowitz from Basi Pilates, Kathy Corey at West Coast Pilates,
John Garey of Stott Pilates, and Michael King of Michael King Pilates.
Deborah combines her knowledge
of dance and Pilates helping her clients to realize their fitness goals through
improving their posture, flexibility and strength. Deborah's advanced knowledge
of movement and anatomy principals enables her to work with diverse body types and issues. Her approach, coupled with the Pilates
technique and gentle coaching, develops physical confidence in the client's
daily, recreational, and sport activities.
She has also developed special programs for Teens and Seniors. Deborah loves sharing the process of learning with her clients in their self
discovery and accomplishments.
As an instructor for over 25
years, Deborah has taught ballet, modern jazz and dance exercise at numerous
institutions from the Princeton Ballet in New Jersey to Stanford University and
at her own dance center in New York City. Her performing career started at The Oakland Ballet
and progressed to New York City where she was introduced to Pilates that is
synonymous with dance training. Upon
return to San Francisco Deborah founded, directed, and performed with the
San Francisco Jazz Dance Company and later founded her dance center American
Dance in Petaluma.
